Responsibilities

 

OBXtek is currently staffing for a Proposal Technical Writer in our Tysons Corner Headquarters office.  The main responsibilities will be to provide writing and editing support for Federal Government proposal activities, manages and updates various databases on proposal related materials, and assists with research and proposal team activities. Individual must be able to work independently and provide support to translate technical requirements into proposal narrative. Must be able to work under strict deadlines.

 

Duties are:

  1. Prepare written material, formats, templates, tables, for responses to Federal contract requests including RFIs, Sources Sought (SS), Requests for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/Qs), Task Orders (TOs)white papers, briefing slides, proposals, and research papers
  2. Revise and tailor approved narrative and other materials to meet specific needs for RFIs, SS, RFP/Qs and TOs
  3. Prepare drafts for graphics, tables, spreadsheets, etc. to be included in written materials
  4. Edit and review written material prepared by others to include the actual narrative and compliance with formats and templates, win themes, solicitation compliance, and solution accuracy
  5. Create compliance matrices for solicitations
  6. Translate discussions with subject matter experts into proposal language.
  7. Provide research support for capture and proposal work
  8. Maintain and update various libraries of written materials and graphics
  9. Assist with understanding and analyzing solicitation materials
  10. Obtain information from industry, government and other sources using phone, email and internet

Qualifications

 

• Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Business, Public Policy or related field
• Three years of experience as a technical writer performing similar responsibilities for information technology services and/or management consulting business operations
• Familiarity with the Federal acquisition process and layout of solicitation documents
• Exceptional ability to write narratives to meet requirements and English writing mechanic requirements
• Exceptional verbal and presentation skills
• Knowledge of the Shipley process for proposal development
• Experience performing research to support proposal-related work
• Work non-business hours occasionally including nights, holidays and weekends
• Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
