Responsibilities

 

OBXtek is looking for a PC Technician to fill an opening at Lackland AFB. The overall project mission is to have expert support to assist in maintaining the integrity, continuity and daily administration of the Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA/SGAI) IT support organizations.  The role of the Senior PC Technician is to support and maintain computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

 

Responsibilities include

  • The PC Technician’s role is to monitor and respond to complex hardware, software and network problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Provide primary interface with vendor support service groups or provide internal analysis and support to ensure appropriate notification during outages or period of degraded system performance.
  • May function as task lead providing guidance and training for less experienced technicians.
  • Assist Personal Computer (PC) Support and Audio Visual Center support technicians as required.
  • Operates in position as alternate Information Assurance Officer (IAO) and alternate Equipment Control Officer (ECO).• Support users in the structuring of requests and inquiries with a user oriented language; identifies possible technical problems in the terminal, communication lines or the computer system; and advises the terminal user of where and how to acquire appropriate technical assistance;
  • Use trouble ticket software to document and maintain all user trouble calls.  A ticket number will be given to the customer when the ticket is created;
  • Conducts all In/Out processing of AFMOA personnel.  Serve as Primary and alternate ITECs for the C011 (Help Desk) equipment account, the C026 (Transition) equipment account, and the CONF (Conference) equipment account.

Qualifications

Must be a US citizen with a current active Secret Clearance.

 

Shall possess as a minimum Security+ CE certification.

Information Assurance Certification Requirements.

 

3+ years of experience in computer system/network management to include two (2) years of specialized experience related to Network/Task Management.
