This contract supports the SAF/AQ organization, other PEOs as directed, and other Headquarters Air Force organizations where it is in the interest of the SAF/AQ to have an acquisition support presence within that organization. The objective is to provide specialized expertise to complement the organization’s inherent resources for effective and efficient mission accomplishment and continuity, introduction of innovation, and enhancement of technical competence. The contractor shall support the entire spectrum of acquisition and sustainment efforts as necessary to support the respective Government organizations.
Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Logistics and Product Support (SAF/AQD) is responsible for providing enterprise oversight of all matters pertaining to product support, supply chain management, maintenance of military materiel and all support functions required to field and maintain the operational capability of weapon systems, including all functions related to weapon system readiness. SAF/AQD develops strategy, policy and guidance and serves as the primary interface with Congress, OSD and the other military Services on programs relative to product support.
The tasks for this position include:
a. Supporting the development, review and publication of Air Force policy in multiple functional areas including supply chain management, maintenance, and life cycle logistics.
b. Assessing proposed statutory and regulatory provisions and provide detailed analyses of potential impacts that these provisions will have on the Air Force.
c. Supporting the development and implementation of methods, procedures, best practices and techniques concerning product support and logistics.
d. Supporting enterprise-level strategy development, governance and implementation.
e. Researching, developing, and coordinating written products such as bullet background papers and briefing slides to support senior executive participation in meetings and decision forums.
f. Collaborating with diverse Headquarters Air Force office to identify, analyze, and develop solutions for highly complex problems that cross organizational boundaries.
g. Reviewing and assessing weapon system program documentation such as Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, Acquisition Strategies, Systems Engineering Plans, and Requests for Proposal.
h. Supporting the development of responses to Congressional Inquiries, Government Accountability Office Audits, and Inspector General Reports.
i. Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties list above and as coordinated with the COR.

Personnel at the Journeyman level in this position shall have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
A total of 5 years of experience in the logistics field.
