    This STAQSS contract supports the SAF/AQ organization, other PEOs as directed, and other Headquarters Air Force organizations where it is in the interest of the SAF/AQ to have an acquisition support presence within that organization. The objective is to provide specialized expertise to complement the organization’s inherent resources for effective and efficient mission accomplishment and continuity, introduction of innovation, and enhancement of technical competence. The contractor shall support the entire spectrum of acquisition and sustainment efforts as necessary to support the respective Government organizations.


    The Scientific Analyst, Senior for the Office of the Deputy Asst Secy for Science, Technology and Engineering.


    The tasks for this position include:


    a. Assessing policy requirements and developing policy and procedures governing the interaction of Assurance in Software Engineering (ASE) into all acquisition phases of lifecycle management and sustainment of AF weapon systems.

    b. Planning, developing, and coordinating ASE of weapon system Platform Information Technology (PIT) policy development/writing and plans to include strategic planning, capital planning, and investment control, workforce planning, standards development, resource management, knowledge management, architecture, infrastructure planning and management, as well as auditing.

    c. Planning and coordinating policy development for the acquisition, implementation, and integration of cyber security resiliency software (CSRS) techniques into software supporting operations in all phases of life cycle management and sustainment of AF weapon systems.

    d. Reviewing existing and proposed policy documents that have Cyber Resiliency sections or possibly impact AF enterprise ASE policy. e. Providing ASE expertise especially on weapon system Platform Information Systems (PIT) and Embedded Systems guidance to develop, implement, and evaluate actions to improve the cyber security and resiliency of operational software.

    f. Establishing and promoting consistency across validated security and resiliency software in support of operational systems-level requirements concepts of operations (CONOPS) and architectures and ensures all program technical activities are consistent with these system-level baseline documents.

    g. Reviewing program technical approaches to identify PIT and Embedded systems where integration of material solutions or Tactics, Technics and Practices (TTP) for operational software improves cyber security and resiliency of the entire system.

    h. Reviewing of acquisition programs for integration and technical changes to programs to achieving better software security and resiliency.

    i. Assessing operating system end of life support analysis and recommending strategies to addressing impact on weapons.

    j. Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties list above and as coordinated with the COR.



    Active Secret Clearance.


    Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or Information Assurance


    Must have 10 years of experience in acquisition and software engineering.


    Level II DAWIA (or equivalent) certification in SE is also desired for personnel at either the Journeyman or Senior level.
