Responsibilities

OBXtek is seeking a Database Administrator to upgrade and sustain Oracle databases.  Ability to support SQL databases is a plus.  This is a full-time position at Arnold AFB, Tennessee.

 

Interface directly with application developers, customers, other database administrators, and vendors to upgrade and sustain databases. Integrate database with application software as required.

 

Monitor and tune databases to provide optimal performance, health, and recovery.

 

Plan and implement military security configuration guidance and vendor patches to secure and protect databases.

 

Troubleshoot and resolve database operational and integration issues.

 

Document activities in accordance with configuration management standards and contract deliverables.     

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience Oracle database administration.
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
  • Must be a US Citizen and must be able to obtain and sustain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must be proficient in upgrading and sustaining databases.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with application developers, customers, other database administrators, and vendors.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must have good attitude, be adaptable, and have a willingness to learn.  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and experience with Oracle databases and Oracle PL/SQL.
