Responsibilities

OBXtek is currently staffing for a Contract Specialist II for the PLMSS-ITIPS contract at Scott AFB in Illinois to organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of all contracting activities associated with assigned task order projects.  

 

The qualified candidate for this position will be able to handle the following tasks:

  • Track and report acquisition/procurement actions and status.
  • Ability to prepare drafts and obtain coordination with the contracting agency, Program/Project Manager, other agencies on pre- and post-award documents.
  • Provide recommendations for evaluation criteria and of data deliverables; prepares CDRLs to support acquisition/ procurement of needed supplies or services.
  • Advise and assist in the preparation of documents for the agency's position against protests, claims, and appeals filed with external agencies. 
  • Ability to develop plans for funding and acquisition strategies for contract coverage for duration of protest period.
  • Ability to recommend course(s) of action for COR or program/ project manager requested contract modifications. 
  • Advise and assist with technical, financial, or performance issues indicating contract discrepancies and root-cause analysis; recommends corrections.
  • Support program-level contract closeout (coordination of payments, other financial transactions, and other closeout activities with Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS), contracting office, contractors, and program office).
  • Experienced with regulatory interpretations of federal and agency regulations relating to contracts management including cost, funding and contract rights and remedies afforded the Government under the contracts.
  • Support audits, investigations, and FOIA requests.
  • Obtain cost estimates/quotes for the purchase of COTS products.
  • Maintain financial records of each transaction to assist in financial planning/budget estimates.
  • Prepare documents to process environment hardware refresh, hardware maintenance agreements and software licensing agreements. 

 

 

Qualifications

Secret Clearance required.

 

5+ years' experience supporting government acquisition and contracting activities.

 

Bachelor's degree 

 

Proven ability to manage the specific task order(s) and ensuring the technical/financial solutions and schedules in the specific task orders are implemented in a timely manner.

 

Experienced with the Acquisition and Contract Support of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Products.
