    OBXtek is hiring for an Expert Systems Programmer in FTS to support our client's Data Exchange architecture. 


    In support of the task, the candidate shall perform the activities described in the sections below:


    Task 1- Optimize the Data Exchange Environment

    Support the development, design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of all phases of the Data Exchange Infrastructure including Disaster Recovery planning for all components of client server applications used for Data Exchange and provide support to address issues related to Data Exchange processes and migrations

    • Investigate disaster recovery plans.
    • Define critical processes to monitor.
    • Install and activate security auditing.
    • Conduct load testing of the application.
    • Monitor and evaluate system capacity of the data exchange environment regularly.
    • Automate monitoring and alerts.
    • Document standard operating procedures along with problem determination and resolution sections.
    • Evaluate security reviews.
    • Assist with the design and configuration of the new application on multiple platforms.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to the migration to the new data exchange software.
    • Implement and test the new software on multiple platforms.
    • Perform lifecycle testing and implementation.


    Task 2: Enhance Current Processes and Build New Processes and Interface Mechanisms for Data Exchange Environment

    Review and discuss operational improvements, address any performance concerns, and expand the application to allow more users

    • Identify performance and expected workloads.
    • Build new business processes or interfaces for the Open Systems Data Exchange environment.
    • Resolve performance issues identified.
    • Evaluate the architecture and determine the needs of customers.
    • Test and evaluate applications required for this architecture.
    • Automate transfer for use with internal and external trading partners.
    • Troubleshoot with client server personnel on an as needed basis.
    • Examine the impact of performance related changes that may occur on operational functionalities.
    • Troubleshoot any performance related issues


    Task 3: Data Exchange End User Support

    Provide Level 3 support for all Open System File Transfers including Tibco MFT and IBM Connect: Direct infrastructure servers on UNIX Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft Windows Environments.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems for all Open Systems File Transfers.
    • Identify the individual application needs and categorize all users that share the same technical concerns.
    • Develop solutions to user complaints and implement the changes.
    • Document software changes.
    • Document problem resolution steps.
    • Design, develop, and code advanced application interfaces for Unix and Windows.
    • Automate uploads and downloads.
    • Provide Management Information.
    • Automate monitoring and alerts.
    • Document basic operating procedures along with problem determination and resolution sections.
    • Evaluate for security reviews.
    • Interface with clients.
    • Maintain files and business process modeling languages.
    • Update and maintain server administrative functions including adding and deleting users.
    • Install/Configure/Upgrade software.
    • Test new applications.
    • Convert existing clients and applications as needed.




    Requires 10 years technically related experience.


    The candidate’s experience should include the following:

    • TIBCO products; specifically Managed File Transfer (MFT) Platform Server (for Windows and Linux), Internet Server, and Command Center
    • Secure FTP
    • Administering Windows and/or Linux systems 
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Architecting Managed Data Exchange Solution in an open systems environment
    • Architecting on-demand solutions for Data Exchange (i.e. Service Bus)
    • Experience with Mainframes
