    OBXtek is currently staffing for a Communications Specialist at our Tysons Headquarters office. The position requires a communications professional who can make meaningful contributions implementing the company’s overall communications strategy. Must be a critical thinker with a facility for language and strong writing skills. Candidates with a background in writing and communications planning with an emphasis on integrated communications, analytics, stakeholder communications, messaging, communication outreach and execution are strongly encouraged to apply.



    • Develop a thorough understanding of the company, its brand and its business.
    • Fact-check all content for accuracy.
    • Ensure consistent quality for all published content, regardless of platform or content originator.
    • Ensure that communications materials adhere to OBXtek’s identify guidelines.


    Content Creation and Analysis:

    • Write or create content (alone or in collaboration with internal stakeholders) related to company news, events, awards, initiatives, business products, etc.
    • Write and manage content for distribution across multiple channels including web, public relations, e-newsletters, social media, etc.
    • Conduct interviews and gather information from stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Identify opportunities to reuse or repackage content tailored to different audiences or channels.
    • Develop and maintain content for e-newsletters and website on a regular basis.
    • Edit content created by others for accuracy, clarity, and messaging to align with OBXtek’s style and brand identity.
    • Track, analyze, and report engagement for digital products/social media.
    • Collaborate with marketing resources to develop a content calendar.
    • Post content to social media platforms with the goal of improving KPIs.


     Project Management:

    • Plan, design, and produce OBXtek publications, marketing, collateral, and online content
    • Collaborate in the layout and design of publications and websites




    Bachelor’s degree

    5+ years’ written communications experience (corporate environment preferred)

    • Experience writing, editing, producing and distributing content across multiple channels including web, e-newsletter, social media etc.
    • Experience writing for multiple audiences, adapting to different voices and styles as needed.
    • Experience creating and managing content with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Sharepoint.
    • Experience formatting and posting web content using a content management system.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with others to achieve results.
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment.
    • Extremely organized with an unfailing attention to detail.
    • Resourceful in gathering information from across the organization.




    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Familiarity with U.S. federal contracting.
    • Experience with web analytics and social media tracking tools.
