    Responsibilities

    OBXtek is currently staffing for a Senior Systems Programmer to support SSA's DIET division with Configuration Management and Coordination.

    Background

    The Division of Integration and Environmental Testing (DIET) manages SSA’s integrated testing environment that supports change/configuration management and release coordination  for all of the online mainframe legacy, SSA intranet and Internet applications, approximately 115,000 workstations and 1,600 domain controllers and managed member servers and all software related to these platforms. 

     

    Scope of Task

    Support DIET in their mission to:

    1. Manage all DIET release coordination and configuration management including but not limited to: software, system, hardware, facilities, database, batch, and/or network changes.
    2. Redesign, manage and/or maintain the Online Software Release Form System (OSRF) and/or other systems managed/used by the Division to fulfill its mission.
    3. Develop and maintain various technical reports and automated computer programs.

     

    In support of the task, the contractor shall perform activities such as those described in the sub-tasks below.

     

    Sub-Task 1: Release Coordination Support

     

    Purpose:  Manage all change control for DIET.

     

    Activities:

    • Develop programmatic solutions and reports with error coding, logging and auditing for release coordination and configuration management activities.
    • Design, create and maintain multiple enterprise relational database schemas including but not limited to: Oracle, SQL and or other database technology determined by the SSA task manager.
    • Perform server administration functions for multiple enterprise relational database schemas including but not limited to: Oracle and/or SQL technology.
    • Perform server administration functions for physical/virtual devices
    • Design, create and maintain reports, programs and/or applications using C++, C#, C; .NET; SQL; ASP.NET; HTML, XML; Java; and other object-oriented programming languages
    • Develop automated programmatic solutions and reports with error coding, logging and auditing for release coordination and configuration management activities.
    • Create and maintain robust technical reports (obtained from multiple relational databases or other sources) related to change control coordination, auditing and change management using scripts/programs written in C#, SQL, ASP.NET and/or object-oriented programming languages.
    • Archive and document all source code for scripts using MS Visual Studio.
    • Populate databases, i.e., CAPRS, Online Software Release Form system and other related systems that the branch supports. This will include managing the populated data and its integrity.
    • Analyze and respond to various forms of communication within the SSA community including but not limited to emails, SharePoint sites, intranet inquiries (web inquires), phone, meetings, and/or other forums.
    • Communicate and/or present to SSA stakeholders.
    • Attend meetings and/or lead meetings in conjunction with associated projects.      

     

    Deliverables:

    • The contractor shall complete database builds within 2 – 4 weeks depending upon the complexity of the assignment. At completion, the contractor shall notify the Task Manager via email.
    • Depending upon the number and complexity of the report, the contractor shall develop reports within 2-4 weeks. Upon completion (including documentation and archival), the contractor shall notify the Task Manager via email.
    • Depending upon the number and complexity of the work, the contractor shall perform Database management (including data entry) within 2-4 weeks of request. At completion, the contractor shall notify the Task Manager via email.

     

     

    Sub-Task 2: Configuration Management Support

     

    Purpose: Manage DIET’s Configuration Management activities. Also provide support for all automation and maintenance activities that are required.

     

    Activities:
