    OBXtek supports the State Department Consular Affairs ISSO.  The Bureau of Consular Affairs supports three main areas: American Citizens, Passports, and Visas.  Each area develops applications, which require certification and accreditation.  In addition, the security team provides expert security guidance on an as needed basis.



    OBXtek is looking for a Technical Writer (TW) who will support the Program Manager and RMF 1-3 Team Leads regarding all tasks associated with the Risk Management Framework lifecycle including but not limited to: System Security Plans, System Categorization Forms, Privacy Impact Assessments, NIST Control Documentation, e-Authentication Risk Assessment Forms, Planned Change Comparative Analyses, Notification of Changes, and System Inventories.

    Technical Skills:

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Visio, Project and etc. 

    • Coordinate the Security portion of the Enterprise Change Management (ECM) process and provide final analysis for upper management review;
    • Maintain, review, and update any SOPs used by the Assessment and Authorization team including but not limited to ECM, Planned Change Comparative Analysis, Internal Routing Process, New Hire On-Boarding Process, and Reporting Methods;  
    • Provide complete and comprehensive information to all new hire employees during the on-boarding process including but not limited to badging, email account creation, PKI credentials, SharePoint, CA/CST System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, Stage Gate Review (SGR) process, CA/CST organizational structure, and FISMA Memo compliance;
    • Finalize, update, analyze, review, and maintain the weekly status reports for upper management review in addition to any other reports, data calls, or presentations as needed;
    • Update, analyze, review, and maintain the monthly Contract Status Review, compiling pay and contract data.  Experience with Microsoft Excel with basic formula functions and attention to detail required.  
    • Review technical documents for grammar, spelling, style, layout, and conformance to required templates, formatting guidelines, and technical content checklists;
    • Create and maintain senior level briefing materials, including reports, presentations, charts, graphs, and spreadsheets of a complex and sophisticated nature; 
    • Generate notes at high level meetings and briefings for the Assessment and Authorization Team and government clients;
    • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of all requirements related to Assessment and Authorization, Risk Management, FISMA, NIST Standards, procedures, roles, responsibilities, organizations, and key players, and be able to apply such knowledge to the government client’s unique environment;
    • Communicate and cooperate effectively and professionally with team members and government clients at all levels in the Assessment and Authorization process;
    • Assist the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization Team to produce the highest quality deliverables possible;   
    • Financial/spreadsheet experience a bonus


    Manage multiple tasks and deliverables against strict deadlines.


    In addition, under the guidance of the Program Manager/RMF1-3 Team Leads, the technical writer will convert SSPs from Rev 4 to Rev 5 in MS Word format.  Then, transfer the data into our automated tool.
