    OBXtek is looking for an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to align business objectives with employees and management in the designated support areas of facility and personal security. The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) works for a government contractor with cleared personnel. This position assists in the development, administration, and implementation of all security procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Reports directly to the FSO.



    • Assist FSO with overall security program
    • Establish and maintain successful working relationships with government and internal customers
    • Process new employee security clearances
    • Track security clearance investigations and perform administrative support functions to include Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and eQIP administration
    • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for personnel
    • Process necessary badge requests for government and company facilities
    • Processing visit requests and certifications
    • Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s
    • Review of required forms, process and screen of security forms of various background investigations, and associated paperwork for accuracy
    • Implement security policy and direction consistent with the Company and Government regulations
    • Interface with government customers on security related issues.
    • Assist in preparation, management, and interfacing with DSS during audits.
    • Provide answers/analyses to address questions and concerns from management
    • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.



    • High School Degree with a minimum 3 years’ experience in Security Program
    • BA/BS Preferred



    • Must have or be able to obtain a DOD Secret level security clearance
    • Should have demonstrated success as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) or equivalent position
    • Working knowledge of NISPOM requirements for a non-possessing facility needed
    • Requires strong working knowledge of JPAS and e-QIP. Experience in processing SF-86, SF-312, Security Investigations and Periodic Reinvestigations.
    • Must have, or be able to pass, Essentials of Industrial Security Management(EISM) Training
    • Be able to create and maintain security files for employees, consultants, and independent contractors is accordance with NISPOM and DSS guidelines
    • Be able to produce, prepare, distribute, instruct, log, and keep security training for all employees.
    • Experience preparing and sending VARs/VALs to government both hard copy and in JPAS for meeting requests and CAC/Badge requests
    • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, organize and prioritize numerous tasks
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Must have excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to juggle competing demands and prioritize work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment
    • Must be able to work independently
