Software Development Engineer/ Computer Programmer Analyst (SDE)

OBXtek is currently staffing for a Software Development Engineer/Computer Analyst to provide on-site applications and developmental support for the Universal Curriculum and Assessment Tool (UCAT) software for the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. We are working to transition from traditional, printed textbook content to a more interactive, digital curriculum format and learning environment for the Department of Defense.

This person will provide support which is essential to ensure continued operation of critical systems and applications to meet our customer’s mission and support requirements.

This person must be able to accomplish consulting, programming, and code maintenance of UCAT and its associated libraries, components and plug-ins.  The candidate will fulfill a primary role for developmental support to UCAT applications and architecture.

Must be a US Citizen and able to attain a Public Trust background check.

• Minimum three years of software support and development experience. Experience supporting foreign language web applications strongly desired;
• Possess a bachelor’s degree or better in computer science or related field from an accredited program;
• Must have experience architecting, designing and developing distributed content authoring systems;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in client-side (JavaScript, CSS, & HTML) and server-side (ASP, .NET, C#, LINQ) for Rich Internet Application solutions;
• Must also possess a minimum of two years of experience in relational database administration;
• Familiarity with form-based templates for developing foreign language (Arabic, CJK, Cyrillic, Latin, and other complex scripts) web-delivered and standalone content strongly desired;
• In depth experience in n-tier application development. Excellent C# coding skills and ability to produce high quality code deliverables based on proven Design Patterns;
• Ability to write complex stored procedures and SQL queries, along with other SQL Server development skills;
• Hands-on experience in debugging techniques and tools;
• Thorough understanding of Engineering Excellence processes and requirements;
• Proven strengths in customer focused technical innovation, extensible design and architecture.
