Responsibilities

OBXtek is staffing for a contingent Strategic Planner to work the GLASS augmentation program supporting the Army Sustainment Command. This project supports the Global Logistic and Support Services (GLASS) augmentation program for the Army Sustainment Command (ASC), its subordinate commands and Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI). This position is contigent upon contract award.

 

GLASS provides essential Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to support the Army’s Materiel Enterprise and supporting programs and staff support functions.  GLASS is a multiple year, multi-faceted, global program with a heavy focus on logistics, concepts, processes, and operational and technical support.

 

The general tasks for this position will be to:

  • Assist with providing ASC the visibility at TS/SCI level events and to assist in the preparation and development of all necessary staff estimates, courses of action, Operations Orders (OPORDs) Fragmentary Orders (FRAGORDs), and Warning Orders (WARNORDs) related to the Combatant Commanders (COCOMs), HQ Department of the Army (HQDA), and Army Materiel Command (AMC) plans and orders.
  • Assist with analysis and evaluation of ASC’s role and mission within the Army.
  • Assist with conducting mid and long-range planning.
  • Assist with implementation of action plans
  • Assist with developing staff estimates and courses of action that support COCOM commander’s theater strategy, campaign plans, OPLANS (Level I – Level IV), and OPORDS.

Qualifications

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility security clearance.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience working in support of a Joint, U.S. Army, or component level headquarters.
  • Logistics experience in deployment/combat in a support operations position.
  • Possess a functional understanding of the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP).
  • Broad knowledge of the Army sustainment enterprise at the Department of the Army and how it relates to other procuring headquarters, USTRANSCOM, and other ASCC headquarters is required to ensure strategic lines of communication are nested with current capabilities to enlist support across a wide array of sustainment organizations.
  • Should have recent experience working at the one star or higher level command.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint at the intermediate level.

Education/Certifications:

  • Planners at minimum should be graduates of military Intermediate Level Education (MEL4) program, the Support Operations Course (Phase 2).

Desired:

  • Graduate of either the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) or Joint Informational Operational Planners Course (JIPOC) are preferred; however not mandatory in support of specific
    tasks.
