Responsibilities

This position provides support to the Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces (HQ PACAF) by planning, executing, and conducting recovery operations for exercises and events conducted with allied countries throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Primary work location is in Hawaii and at CONUS and OCONUS training locations. Contingent upon award of contract.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating complex operations between a host of agencies and manage a unique set of problem areas.
  • Coordinate and plan multiple events in remote locations in third-world countries.
  • Primarily focused on PACIFIC ANGEL engagement events and other events as directed.
  • Support PACAF PLANORD exercises during the entirety of the “Joint Exercise Life Cycle” (JELC), i.e. Concept Development Conference/Initial Planning Conference through Execution and the After-Action Review (AAR) process.
  • Formulate, develop, assist with implementation, and document each exercise/engagement.
  • Plan and organize assigned exercises, estimate costs and funding within assigned budget.
  • Conduct all phases of the exercise planning cycle.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other offices and activities that have a role in the exercise.
  • Develop the purpose, objectives and attendee list planning meetings and conferences.
  • Coordinate exercise/event logistical support.
  • Analyze/document the effectiveness of exercise planning functions as part of the after-action report.
  • Account for current and projected PACAF force structure, roles, responsibilities, force presentation doctrine, and capabilities.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve contingency issues and errors that arise during the JELC.
  • Coordinate and communicate with participating units, Wings and MAJCOM staff and leadership.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications

  • Military Officer Background.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Master’s Degree Preferred

 Required Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications

  • Hold a TOP SECRET / Special Compartment Indoctrination Clearance.
  • Must be SAP/STO and ACCM eligible.
  • Current military experience within the last 5-10 years.
  • Military rated and/or logistics experience.
  • Air Operations Center and/or MAJCOM/NAF Staff Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience planning USAF MAJCOM-level or equivalent exercises
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with an aviation background (Pilot/Navigator/Air Battle Manager/ Air Crew Member) planning or conducting Field Training Exercises (FTXs), Command Post Exercises (CPXs), Staff Exercises STAFF-EX) or Table-Top Exercises (TTX) and Engagements involving aviation assets or that are aviation centric.
  • Familiar with historic inter-country relationships, and country specific customs and courtesies.
  • Familiar with operational/logistical support requirements for exercises, deployments, and mobilizations.
